Nakatsu Gorge

This 10 km long gorge, running between Shiozawa and Nakatsu area, has been carved out by the mountain stream that flows between the mountains and is designated as one of the prefecture's places of scenic beauty. Between the 100 meter high precipitous cliff and boulders of unusual shapes, red and yellow trees are woven into a breathtaking view. Rhododendron blooming in spring, fresh green leaves in the summer, and autumn colors in fall. This is one of Oku Chichibu's hidden spots that will make you gasp, regardless of what season you choose to visit in!
